Teen Sailor Abby sets course on a record
After months of preparation and a week long wait for the weather to clear, Abby Sunderland leaves Marina del Rey in an effort to be the youngest person to circumnavigate the world alone.
After years of dreaming and months of hard work, prayer and perseverance Abby's weather router has given the go ahead for Abby to depart on her round the world sail. Abby left saturday January 23rd. from the Del Rey Yacht Club in her 40-foot racing yacht, "Wild Eyes."
If she succeeds, she'll break the record briefly held by her older brother, Zac.
