2009 Flying Dutchman World Championship Day Two
Today, the 3rd of August, two races were sailed in The Brita Waterfilter International Flying Dutchman World Championship.

At the top mark the outcome of this situation was very clear. The one team that did tack to the cloud immediately was the NED 55. They rounded the first three marks in first position. Some of the big teams, such as HUN 70 Szabolcs Majthényi and Andras Domokos, GER 199 Dirk Bogumil and Michael Lisken and the GER 202 Jörn Borowski and Andreas Berlin had a great start at the left side, but failed to get to the right hand side in time to benefit from the better windspeed and angle. They had to fight their way back to the front in the rest of the race. This was done skillfully by the HUN 70, who won the first race.
NED 32 Bas and Mark van der Pol did very well today with a second and a first place to reach a second place in the provisional results. NED 26 Enno Kramer and Ard Geelkerken won the first race in the blue fleet and finished fifth in the second. The favourite DEN 21 Jörgen and Jacob Bojsen-Møller didn't do so well in the first race today, they had to settle for a 12th position, but they are stil in the race for the title.
